Personal History

Amos Foster died 28 April 1754, in Tewksbury, Province of Massachusetts,[2][3] of fever.[2]

An intention of marriage was published 5 October 1725, in Boxford, for Amos Foster of Boxford and Elizabeth Kitteridg of Haverhill. They were married 8 October 1725, in Andover.

In his will dated 25 April 1754,[4] Amos Foster, of Tewksbury, County of Middlesex, Province of Massachusetts Bay in New England, yeoman, “being sick and weak of body”, bequeathed to his wife Elizabeth Foster, for as long as she remained a widow, the use and improvement of the east end of the dwelling house, goods or personal estate, and an annual allowance of £0-21-4. He bequeathed to his son Jonathan Foster of Tewksbury, husbandman, all lands and buildings, and appointed him his sole executor. He also bequeathed £13-6-8 apiece to his eldest son Jame Foster, his son Amos Foster, and his daughter Mary Foster. The will was presented to the probate court of Middlesex Co. on 17 June 1754 by his named executor and proved by the oaths of Thomas Kittredg and Betty Peacock. Jonathan Foster, as executor, and Thomas Kittredg, both of Tewksbury, husbandmen, signed a bond in the amount of £300.
