- Source:Adams, Andrew N. Genealogical History of Henry Adams, of Braintree, Mass., and His Descendants, p. 512, shows a son Amos in this family with absolutely no detail assigned to him. Literally, it says "x. Amos5." in the family listing, with no birth, no marriage, no death, no later entry, no indication of what has caused there to be any belief in what is apparently a fictitious person. No birth record or death record is found for Amos (in particular, no birth record in Medway having the specific date shown on this page), and no such son is mentioned in his father's will. There is an Amos Adams in Spencer, but that is a grandson, not a son.
