EASTERDAY--Amanda Easterday, nee Shupp, was born in Crawford Co., Ohio, May 27, 1837, and died, Dec. 4, 1909. She was married to Benjamin Easterday in 1858; to this union were born 7 sons and 2 daughters; three sons preceded her in death. The family moved near to Culver, Ind., in 1878. Mother Easterday was converted to Christ in her girlhood. She united with the Evangelical Association, in which faith she triumphed in death. She lived the plain, humble, consistent, Christ life, and the sunshine of her beautiful touched many other lives. Shortly before her death she called her companion and children to her bedside, bidding them a farewell and requested each one to meet her in heaven. She leaves companion, 4 sons, 2 daughters, 3 brothers, 5 sisters and a host of other friends. Funeral services were conducted by W. S. Tracy, her pastor, the Rev. Owen Wright of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and the pastor of the Christian Church.
