In 1940, Alice met Ken Schaefer when his bank, First National Bank of Philadelphia took over her bank, Integrity Bank of Philadelphia. Ken and Alice had their first date on Valentine's Day and became engaged on June 8. Ken served 3 1/2 years with the Air Force from 1942 to 1945. During that time Alice worked in the Finance Office at Kelly Field in Texas.

She was survived by her husband Ken, her son and his family, and her brothers Robert and William Daniels.
