Alice Blanche Conklin, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Windlan)Conklin was born on 17 September 1851 on Richmond Street in Cincinnati (Hamilton County), Ohio. She married Joseph Carey Spear, son of Samuel Blagg and Rachel (Carey) Spear. Joseph was born on 26 September 1848 in Cincinnati and died on 24 July 1917 in Cincinnati. Joseph was the secretary of Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati for 40 years. The 1880 census shows Joseph and Alice living with her parents. They later lived at 425 Riddle Road in the Clifton area of Cincinnati. Alice’s obituary says that she was a prominent worker in women's organizations. Alice died on 24 March 1929 in Cincinnati. Both Alice and Joseph are buried at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati.
