Alice Conklin, daughter of Benjamin and Harriet Conkling was born in 1850 in Cambridge City, Indiana. She married William F. Medsker on 14 September 1870. William was a mortician in Cambridge City. William's tombstone says, " Co. F. 42 Inf.". Alice died in 1934. Both William and Alice are buried at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City, Indiana.

    Mrs. Alice Medsker, age 83 years, died Tuesday morning at her home on Main street. She had been ill practically throughout the winter, but death was unexpected. She was a charter member of the W.R.C. No. 151, a member of the Easter Star Chapter, Pythian Sisters, Pocahontas, and Rebekah lodges, a member of the Helen Hunt Club and the Presbyterian church. Survivors are: one son, Harry, at home and two sisters, Misses Hatie and Lillie Conklin. Funeral services will be held at the Conklin Home on East Main street, the home of her sisters, this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial in Riverside cemetery. Rev. J.C. Smith, officiating.
