Alexis Bernier's Wife was Maria Magdalena Laplace, She was born on Saint-Barthélemy, Guadeloupe.

Alexis Bernier was born in Quebec, Canada. [The only evidence apparent for this is an Alexis Bernier baptized in L'Islet-sur-Mer, Quebec in 1788, whose Ancestry.com record is not fully indexed and says he was baptized 1679-1788. Someone appears to have taken this as his birth and death years and assumed it was this person.] Apparently he moved to Saint-Barthélemy, then met Maria Magdalena Laplace, and then, they get married on Saint-Barthélemy, approximately on 1745/1750 .

That explain why this French family move all the way from France, to Quebec, Canada and then to Saint-Barthélemy, where they lived until finally move to Puerto Rico on the years 1800s.
