Alexander H. Seaver served in Union Army in the Civil War. He enlisted as a Sergeant on 28 May 1862, at the age of 22, in Company B, 13th Infantry Regiment of New York. A Death notice was published in the New York Times newspaper, dated 21 April 1924. It reads:

“Died. SEAVER—April 17, 1924, Alexander H., age 84 years, son of the late William Whitney and Anna Hunneman Seaver. Funeral services at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, Tuesday, at 11 A.M.”
