1. IGI (records submitted by unknown LDS members) indicate his parents are James Dick and Mary Jack. Films #458021, 452120 (Sealings of the dead). This couple was married 18 Jun 1714 Kirkliston, West Lothian, Scotland (IGI Batch #M116672 - extracted from marriage records).

Warning: a Pedigree Resource File (CD #81) claims he was the son of John Dick and Rebecca Brown. This couple was married 29 Oct 1719 Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland (IGI Batch # M116689 - extracted from marriage records.) But the IGI Batch #C116672 is an extraction from actual church records, so I'm going with James Dick and Mary Jack as his parents.
