  Alexander Barricklow, 3rd son of Frederick and Nancy Dugan Barricklow was born May 21, 1833, on the "Home Farm", Section 14, Cadiz Township, Harrison County, Ohio. He grew up on the home farm and attended the Paxton School, and later re-named Pikes Peak, not far from Route 22. He followed farming and stock raising as a way of life. Afer the death of the sister, Margaret Ann,( in 1863, 28 years of age,)  the 4 boys were heirs to the father's estate. In the settling of the estate Alexander got the 180 acre farm in Section 22, Athens Township bordering on Belmont County, Ohio, 1 mile north of Flushing County, Ohio. Alexander was healthy, a good worker and conservative in finances.
  He never married and lived alone. He kept a good riding horse and spent much time visiting his friends. He would remain over night. On one of these visits with his brother John and Family, he had a stroke. He lived about 2 years after this and was able to walk some. He did January 11, 1905 and was buried in the Cassville Cemetery. His neices Emma and Carrie cared for him. He left everything to his brother, John Dugan Barricklow, who was the executor of the estate.
