A.S. Wakefield Dies At Greene, December 2, 1937
Was Descendant Of a Pioneer Trumbull County Family

Albert S. Wakefield, 62, a well known resident of Greene and a descendant of one of the pioneer families of Trumbull county, died at his home at Middle Corners, Greene township, at 1:30 this morning. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage... Mr. Wakefield was a son of the late Rev. and Mrs. E.R.[B.] Wakefield. He was born in Bloomfield, June 26, 1875, and resided there until the family moved to Warren, where for many years his father was pastor of the Disciple [now Central Christian] church. He received his education in the Warren schools and Hiram college where his father for many years was a professor and acting president.
Completing his college work he returned to the family farm in Greene where he had since made his home. The old homestead, over a hundred years old, burned to the ground a year ago and since that time he had resided at Middle Corners. For some time past his health had not been good and he had been confined to his bed since Thanksgiving. Mr. Wakefield joined the Disciple church in boyhood and when the churches in Greene consolidated he became a member of the Community church there. Surviving are his wife, six sons, Paul of Morgandale, Bradford of Cortland, William, Burritt, Philip and George at home; two daughters, Martha and Amy at home; one brother, Dr. Paul A. Wakefield of Boston, and three grandchildren.
