Albert Kern, 72, retired slate worker, of 20 N. North St. Slatington, died at 7:40 a.m. Friday in Allentown Hospital where he had been a patient since Nov. 3. Born in Slatington, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Jemina (Hughes) Kern. Survivors include one daughter Bertha, wife of Samuel Hahn, Bethlehem R. 2; five sons, Earl, at home; Benjamin, Reading; Walter, Danielsville; Irvin, Slatington; Ralph, Slatington R. 1; and 11 grandchildren.
