    Aden Jesse Lauchner 1932 - 2016
    Aden Jesse Lauchner, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
    Aden was born July 26, 1932 in Springfield, the son of Aden H. and Phyllis M. Lauchner. He married Mary Lou Smith in 1953 in Springfield.
    A graduate of Springfield High School, Aden earned a degree in Architecture from the U of I. He was a founder of the Lauchner Maslauski Architectural Firm and later founded Lauchner and Lauchner, Inc. in 1972 with his wife, Mary Lou. His son, David, joined the firm in 1984. The office closed in 2009. Aden was a member of the Baha'i' Faith.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; son, David (Judy Krone) Lauchner; two daughters, Karen Hoffer and Stephanie (Michael) Phillips; five grandchildren, Allison (Jeffrey) Lauchner Brose, Jesse (Annie) Lauchner, Michelle (Nick) Lauchner Hogan, Amy (Jeremy) Beacham Armstrong, and Shane Phillips; and eight great-grandchildren.
    Visitation: Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Ave. West, Springfield.
    Funeral Ceremony: 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home conducted by the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'i's of Springfield. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery.
    Memorial contributions may be made to: American Parkinson Disease Association or Lewis Memorial Christian Village.

    Aden Jesse Lauchner attended Purdue University and the University of Illinois. He was a registered architect in the States of Illinois and Maryland, and was a member of the American Institute of Architects. He was the owner of Lauchner & Lauchner, Inc. from 1974-2011.

    Aden became a member of the Baha'i Faith in 1953 and served on the local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahai's of Urbana and Springfield, Illinois. Also, he was elected delegate to the Baha'i National Convention in Wilmette, Illinois from 1960-1970.
