    "Adam W. Powell was born in the State of New York, January 12th 1830, and died in Kenesaw, Adams Co., Nebr. June 29th 1897, being sixty seven years 6 months and 17 days. At the age of 19 he moved with his parents to Penn. where on January 12th 1854 he was united in marriage to Miss. Rachel M Edwards and to this was born eleven children, 5 girls and 6 boys, seven of which with the bereaved wife survive him..."
