Adam Hausenfluck was born in Shenandoah County, Virginia, about 1805, youngest child of Henry and Margaret. He married Elizabeth Rudolph in 1831 and lived in Shenandoah County all his life. Adam was a wagoneer, and was badly injured in january, 1866, when his wagon and team got out of control as they were going down a hill. According to an item in the Staunton Spectator : "Mr. Adam Hausenfluck of Shenandoah County had his right arm broken on Thursday whilst driving his team down Cabin Run Hill, the wheels having run over it. His arm was amputated."[1] In 1870 all the children were married and living elsewhere and a niece, Mary Wymer, age 14 was living with Adam and Elizabeth. Adam is last listed in the 1880 census but a specific death date has not been determined.
