Moved from Kentucky to Indiana around 1824 and to Iowa around 1841. Absolem donated land for Spencer Cemetery in Van Buren Co., Iowa, northeast of Stockport, IA. Puchased land in Jefferson Co., IN in 1829.

Located in 1820 census (KY, Allen) and 1830 & 40 census (IN, Jefferson). 1820 census shows three sons under age 10. 1830 census shows 5 sons and one other female, age 20-30.

Henry (b. 1843) and Nancy J. (b. 1843) SPENCER are listed in the 1860 census (IA, Van Buren) living with Absalom. I believe Henry is the sone of Charles SPENCER, Absalom's grandson. Nancy may be his wife.
