I. Abram Haines, of the Township of Evesham and County of Burlington, and Province of West New Jersey, being weak of body but of sound mind and memory, for which I am thankful to the Giver thereof, but calling to mind the uncertainty of this life, and that it is appointed for all men once to die, and being desirous that such temporal goods as it hath pleased the Lord to bless me with in this life should come unto such hands as I should hereafter give, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, and this only to be taken for the same. Imprimis—My will is that my just debts be paid by my executors hereinafter named, as likewise such legacies as I shall hereinafter give. Item—Forasmuch as I have purchased a tract of land in the Colony of Virginia, containing by estimation about nine hundred acres, which is now my proper right, which said lands I give to my son Abram and my son Isaac, to be equally divided between them, my said two sons, and to their heirs and assigns forever. Item—.I give to my son Benjamin forty-four acres of land as it is described to him in the draft, which said two pieces or parcels of land I give to my said son Benjamin, and to his heirs and assigns forever. I also give to my said son Benjamin all my rights to lands untaken up, to him and to his heirs and assigns forever. I give to my son Noah my lands at the mountains, containing about one hundred and thirty acres, lying upon Muspeneckon, to my said son Noah, and to his heirs and assigns forever. Item—I give to my son Edmond the easterly part of my land, that I purchased of Elizabeth Sharp, as it is now divided, containing about two hundred and sixty-five acres and three-quarters, with the usual allowance, to my said son Edmond, and to his heirs and assigns forever. I also give to my said son Edmond forty and two acres that I purchased of Thomas Sharp, and eighteen acres adjoining that I purchased of David Wills, to my said son Edmond, and to his heirs and assigns forever. Item—I give to my son Josiah the westernmost part of my land that I purchased of Elizabeth Sharp, as it is now divided, containing about one hundred and twelve acres onequarter and twenty perches with the usual allowance, to my said son Josiah, and to his heirs and assigns forever. I also give to my said son Josiah ten acres of meadow ground that I purchased of Thomas Sharp, and fourteen acres that I purchased of Elizabeth Sharp, to my said son Josiah, and to his heirs and assigns forever. Item—I give to my son Simeon, my mansion house and homestead, part of my land not before bequeathed, three hundred and twenty acres which I purchased of Hugh Sharp, and eleven acres, being a part of fifty-five acres I purchased of my brother, Richard Haines, the above said land I devise to my said son Simeon, and to his heirs and assigns forever. Item—I give to my seven sons, namely, Abram, Benjamin, Noah, Edmond, Isaac, Josiah and Simeon, all my Cedar Swamp, share and share alike, and to their heirs forever, and no otherwise. Item—I give to my loving wife Grace the use and income of my homestead, part of my lands given to my son Simeon, so long as she shall bear my name and no longer. I also give to my said wife my negro boy, named Will, and to her disposing. Item—I give to my daughter Mary, now the wife of William Sharp, the sum of thirty pounds, to be paid out of my movable estate by my executors hereinafter named, in two years after my decease; I also give to my daughter Mary my negro girl, named Daff, and to her disposing. Item— I give to my daughter Agnes, now the wife of Joseph Hackney, the sum of thirty pounds, to be paid out of my personal estate by my executors hereinafter named, in two years after my decease; I also give to my said daughter, my negro woman named Dinah, and her child, to my said daughter Agnes, and to her disposing. Item—I give to my son Noah the sum of one hundred pounds, to be paid by my executors out of my movable or personal estate in two years after my decease. Item—I give to my son Isaac the sum of two hundred pounds, to be paid by my executors out of my movable or personal estate in two years after my decease. Item —I give to my son Edmond my negro boy named Philip, and to his disposing-. Item—I give to my son Josiah my negro boy named Gion, and to his disposing. Item—My will further is, that if either of my two sons, Isaiah and Simeon, should happen to depart this life before he or they attain the age of twenty-one years, or lawful issue, that their child's part be equally divided between their surviving brothers, share and share alike, and to their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly—I nominate, constitute and appoint my son Noah and my son Edmond to be my whole and sole executors of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of the eighth month, called August, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty-seven (1757).
