"(I) Abraham Samson, probably brother of Henry Samson, came from England some time after his brother, probably in 1629 or 1630. He settled in Duxbury and was on the list of those able to bear arms in 1643. He was one of the fifty-four original grantees of the town of Bridgewater in 1645, all of whom resided in Duxbury, but he did not remove there. He was surveyor of highways in 1648; constable 1653. He was admitted a freeman in 1654. He died some time after 1686. He married _____ Nash, daughter of Lieutenant Samuel Nash, of Duxbury. Children: 1. Samuel, born about 1646, married Esther _____. 2. George, born 1655, married Elizabeth _____. 3. Abraham, born about 1658, married Lorah Standish. 4. Isaac, mentioned below, Probably others."

Torrey explains the relationships presented in the 1681 will of Lt. Samuel Nash of Duxbury as follows:
The Samuel and Ichabod Sampson who were beneficiaries in the will were Samuel Nash's great-grandsons, children of Samuel Sampson, Nash's deceased grandson. This Samuel Sampson was the eldest son of Abraham Sampson. Abraham's other sons (George, Abraham, and Isaac) were not mentioned in the will. Thus, Abraham Sampson had at least 2 wives, the first of which was a daughter of Lt. Nash. Samuel, Elizabeth, and Mary were children of the first wife, and George, Abraham, and Isaac were children of the second (unknown) wife.
