2 females (a dau. and his wife)

Abraham Shasteene on the 1807 petition of Walton Co., GA (now Transylvania and Henderson counties NC) residents. This area was still Indian land at this time and now falls in NC but until 1812 was believed to be in the Georgia area.

Abraham next appeared in the land deeds recorded Aug. 1815 in Rutherford Co., NC to settle the estate of James Coward. It is possible he had married a daughter of a Coward.

3 males born 1810-1820 (probably John, Abraham and Jacob)
1 male born before 1775 (this would be Abraham himself)
3 females born 1804-1810 (one would probably be dau. Cynthia)
1 female born 1794-1804
1 female born 1775-1794 (his wife)

Abraham Chesteen - 1830 Pickens Co., SC census:
2 males age 10-15 (Abraham and Jacob)
1 male age 15-20 (probably John)
1 male age 60-70 (Abraham himself)
1 female age 15-20 (Cynthia)
2 females age 20-30
1 female age 50-60 (his wife)

Abraham Chasteen - 1840 Pickens Co., SC census:
2 males age 20- 30 (Abraham and Jacob)
1 male age 70-80 (Abraham himself)
1 female age 20-30 (Cynthia)
1 female age 60-70 (his wife)

The only documented children for Abraham Chastain are his sons Abraham and Jacob noted in Pickens Co., SC Deed Book F1:167, dated Sep 1841: Abraham deeds to "Abraham and Jacob my lawfull heirs" ..."for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have..." Abraham Jr. has a sister Cynthia living with him throughout the census records, the 1880 census names her as his sister.
