! 1.Will Book 1, Amelia Co. Virginia Wills 1735-1761, Bonds 1735-1754 2.Something about the dates in the transcript of the will does not add up. It states that he died May 13, 1736 and the will was proved January 14, 1736. Now, the willwould not be proved until after his death---not before. Could the dates be reversed? Need to check for a copy of the original will. The copy says he made it 13 May 1736! His son, Charles Burton was the exe. for the will. md. Loveday Franklin, dau of James Franklin, Sr.; Charles married about 1729 dau. Susanna Garrett one cow & calf md. John Garrott and 2nd. John Clifton son: Abraham 200 acres of land and slaves md. Mary Bevill dau of Essex and Mary Elizabeth Bevill.They had children: Abraham, Robert, Abel, Peter, Elizabeth, Phoebe, and another daughter named Mason. son: Charles 200 acres plus slaves. Married Loveday Franklin and had the following children: Thomas, Henry, Charles, Abraham, Benjamin, and Robert. son: Thomas upper part of estate his Father was living on plus half of his personal estate and some Negroes. Thomas had at least two children: Charles and Susan. wife: Ann other half of personal estate and the use of some Negroes 3.Will Bk. #1 Amelia Co. Va.
