Abraham bought one acre of land from his father, George Dec 5, 1881.(The house on this property) was a two story frame home, possibly two to three bedrooms, located on a hill, just southwest of his father's old stone home at #1 Leisenring in Pennsylvania. After his mother's death in 1903, Abraham and his family went to Kansas, where they joined his brother Emanuel and his family (who had migrated to the west in 1868. Abraham bought home place in Miami Co., Kansas, SE quarter Section No. 26, Township 17, Range 24; registered at Deeds Office, Paola, Ks., July 8, 1884, from D.M. Harkness for $3500. Harkness received all rents for 1884 and retained possession until March 1, 1885. Abraham brought his family from Pennsylvania to the property in 1904; renting the property to George Washington Barricklow (brother) for nearly 20 years. |
