Abraham Annis, born in Newbury Aug. 18, 1668. He was a weaver and husbandman; and lived in Newbury until 1736, when he bought one hundred acres of land in Haverhill, whither he removed the next year, selling his house and land in Newbury. When the State line was run, in 1741 , his farm was brought into Salem, N. H., and he afterward lived there. Haverhill was thus divided into two parts, the northern being called for a few years subsequently "Haverhill in New Hampshire." Mr. Annis married Hannah ___ before 1693-4.
