MRS. ABIGAIL GONGAWARE
Mrs. Abigail Long Gongaware, 91 years old, widow of Josiah Gongaware, died at 2:20 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home of her daughter Mrs. Frank Filtz, Irwin, RD 1, with whom she made her home. Mrs. Gongaware is survived by 115 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was born March 11, 1856, the daughter of the late John and Hanna Mull Long at Harrison City. She was a member of the Circleville Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Filtz, with whom she made her home are the following children: William F. and Lewis M., of Santa Monica, Cal.; Mrs. Margaret Stuart, of Herminie; Mrs. Mertle Gongaware, Jacob C., Charles D., Raymond, Mrs. Glenn Gongaware and Earl E., all of Irwin.
Forty-seven grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Wanamaker of Jeannette, RD 1 and three brothers, Dr. John Long of Harrison City; Daniel Long of Greenwich, O., and Samuel Long of Irwin RD 2 also survive.
Friends will be received at the Rodgers Funeral Home, Irwin. Funeral services will be conducted there at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with her pastor, Rev. J. V. Mullins officiating. Interment will be in Irwin Union cemetery.
