In Alfred, N. Y., Oct. 9th, 1879, Mrs. Abby Stillman, relict of the late Silas Stillman, Esq., in the 70th year of her age. She had for some time past suffered from perhaps an organic difficulty of the heart. The more immediate cause of her death seemed to be paralysis of the brain, from which she suffered but a few hours. The subject of this notice was the youngest daughter of Dea. George Stillman, of percious memory. In her early childhood, he father settled at what is now known as Alfred Centre, and her life has been spent either in or within sight of the village. In her domestice and social life, she was one of earth's most excellent ones. To these virtues, she added, as a sanctifying power, an active faith in Jesus Christ, and since her early womanhood had been a worthy and beloved member of the First Seventh-day Baptist Church of Alfred.
