JOSEPH Beaman, b. in Leominster, Mass., bapt. in First Church, Oct. 20, 1771; m. Mar. 11, 1794, Annis, dau. of William and Abigail Bemis of Westminster, Mass They resided with her father until his death, 1801, Mr. Bemis was a large man and an invalid in his declining years; he became so helpless that he designed and had made for him a lifting tackle by which he could lift himself around on his bed. Mr. Beaman was a blacksmith by trade and lived in Westminster, where he d. Sept. 24, 1822; Mrs. Beaman moved with her children to Antwerp, N. Y., where she d. Nov. 26, 1857, at the home of her son, Ira. Children:
