Abel Thomson of Farmington made his will on 19 August 1823 and left bequests to daughter Emmeline Thomson and son Horace Thomson, with Horace receiving the residue and the debts and costs to come out of said residue. Sons James Thomson, Asahel Thomson and daughter Nancy Monson were mentioned as already having received 'their respective portions of my estate.' Asahel and Horace were appointed as executors. A codicil was added on 1 November 1824 that revoked Emmeline's bequest citing 'recent marriage and conduct' (Connecticut Estate Files, Farmington District, docket no. 1399).""
