This indenture made this 8th day of August 1821 between Hezekiah Doan of Harrison County & Commonwealth of Kentucky and Patsy his wife of the one part & Robert Madison of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the sd. Doan for & in consideration of the sum of eight hundred and sixty one dollars 75 cents to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained sold aliened & confirmed & and by these presents doth bargain sell alien & convey unto the sd. Robert Madison & his heirs & assigns forever all the following tract of land to wit, :all that tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Harrison in the state afsd. on Mill Creek & boundaries as follows to wit:
- beginning at a stone in the land McFall corner
- thence 245º E 100 poles to a sugartree
- corner to Hugh Roberts
- thence with his line N 80º E 112, 25 poles to a stone in parks's line
- thence with his line N 17º W 52, 5 poles to a stone on the South Bank of Mill Creek
- thence N 85º W 44 poles to a sycamore on the North Bank of sd. creek
- corner to the land of Jas. Matkin decd.
- thence with the lines of sd. survey N 10º W 68 poles to a Boxelder
- thence North 32 poles to a Hickory & white oak
- thence S 85º W 101, 4 poles to a sugartree
- corner to land of Henry Edgar decd.
- thence S 53º E 43 poles to a sugartree
- thence S 0º 30" W 52 poles to the beginning
containing Eighty five & three fourth acres,
also one other tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County & State afsd. on the waters of Mill & Turin[?] Creek & bounded as follows to wit:
- N & E bounded by the lands Goodnight & Pock
- Beginning at a Hickory & Red Oak
- thence N 6º E 81 poles to a white oak
- thence S 86º E 64, 5 poles to a red & white oak
- corner to Pock,
- thence S 6º N with Pocks line 77, 5 poles to a white oak & hickory in Pocks line
- thence S 89º W 65 poles to the Beginning
containing thirty acres called Oak land
with all & singular the rights privileges & appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining To have and to hold the above described tracts or parcels without incumbrance leet or molestation to the only proper use benefit & behoof of him the sd. Robert Madison his heirs & assigns forever. And the sd. Hezekiah Doan & Patsy his wife for themselves their heirs executors & administrators do covenant that they are lawfully possessed of an indefeasible estate in & to the above described premises & have just right & full authority to bargain sell & convey the same as aforesaid & they do forever defend sd. premises & the appurtenances unto the sd. Robert Madison & his heirs & assigns against the claim or claims of thence [i.e., them] the sd. Hezekiah Doan & Patsy his wife & against all other claims whatsoever the first described tract having been purchased at _____ dollars per acre & the second at three dollars per acre. In testimony whereof the sd. Hezekiah Doan & Patsy his wife have hereunto set their hands & seals the day & year first above written.

This Deed of Conveyance from Hezekiah Doan & Patsy his wife to Robert Madison was acknowledged before me by the sd. Doan & Patsy his wife she being examined as the law directs relinquished her right of dower herein & was ordered to be recorded.
