This indenture made this 29th day of September in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and 27 between George Goodnight & Elizabeth his wife late Elizabeth Pock of the County of Harrison and Commonwealth of kentucky of the one part part and Robert Madison of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said George Goodnight & Elizabeth his wife late Elizabeth Pock for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars current money of kentucky to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Robert Madison & his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situated and being in the County of Harrison on the waters of Mill Creek containing 23 acres & 15 poles more or less and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at B [i.e., point 'B' on a diagram] a stake thence N 35º W 43 1/4 poles to C a stake then N 17 1/4 W 64 1/2 poles to D a stake thence N 90 W 10 1/2 poles to E a stake thence S 57 1/4 W 34 1/2 to 1 a white oak hickory & dogwood then S 35º E 122 poles to fig. 2 a hickory & dogwood thence N 49 E 23 1/2 poles to the Beginning being lot No. 1 [or '801'?] as laid off & referred to in the division made among the heirs of Jno. V. Pock Decd. together with all and singular the premises thereto belonging or in any way appertaining to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said Robert Madison and his heirs and assigns forever and the said George Goodnight & wife for themselves & heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and premises unto the said Robert Madison and his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said George Goodnight & Elizabeth his wife late Elizabeth Pock have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date above written.

This Deed of Conveyance from George Goodnight & Elizabeth his wife to Robert Madison was acknowledged before me by the said George Goodnight & Elizabeth his wife she being examined as the law directs relinquished her right title and interest to the within mentioned land and the same was ordered to be recorded.
