Family:William Whalley and Mary Fisher (1)

IGI film 456601 lists Margery Whalley, daughter of William Whalley and Mary Fisher, being christened in Preston 28Sep1811 and being buried 6Jun1831. William was born abt 1786 “of Preston” and married Mary Fisher in 1811. She was born abt 1790 “of Kirkham”. Another IGI submission has the same christening date, location and parents, but less information about the parents, Film No. 445732, reference 32280. Source information is unavailable.

I found a marriage listing for her (probably) in a Yorkshire Marriages list. I am not sure where I got this list.

This is feasible. She may have died in childbirth in Jun1831, 9 months after she was married. Also The Robert Phillipson, Margery Whalley marriage is in the LDS Pedigree Resource File.

The IGI has a listing for a marriage of William Whalley and Mary Fisher taking place in 1811 in Kirkham. Batch No. A456601, sheet 00, call no 456601. This was also a LDS church member submission.

What’s up with Wm Whaley Phillipson? Could Robert Phillipson have been widowed twice and named a son after a Whalley? The IGI has a pedigree of this Robert Phillipson.

LDS familysearch has three children Christened in Kirkham, Lancashire whose parents are William Whalley and Mary Hanny Whalley (probably Nanny), 4Jul1820 Robert Whalley, 5Apr1823 Cuthbert Whalley, 17Dec1825 There is another William Whalley in Kirkham, wife Ellen who also had three children in this time period Robert Whalley, 17Mar1822 Henry Whalley, 25Sep1824 Isabelle Whalley, 29May1826 The families overlap, so it is not a case of two wives of William Whalley. There were two William Whalleys.
