William and Louisa were married by Clergyman Chas. Roper.

William enlisted in the War of 1812 in later part of August or the first of September in 1814 at Petersburg, Virginia. He was enrolled as a private in Capt. Cad. J. Claiborne's Company, Col. James Burns' Regiment under Gen. John Pegram. He was stationed along the Appamatox or James River. He was honorably discharged at Cedar Point or City Point, Virginia, in December 1814. He received 160 acres for his service. Later he received $8 a month for a pension, which Mary received after he died.

William and Louisa had fourteen children, eleven sons and three daughters. Four sons fought in the Civil War, and two died there.

In 1850, William and Mary were living in Allen Township in Union County, Ohio, with six of their children. William was a farmer.

In 1870, William and Mary were living with their daughter, Almeda Epps, who then was a widow, and four of her children in Allen Township in Union County, Ohio.

William was 90 years, 9 months and 18 days old when he died.

Mary was 82 years, 7 months and 26 days old when she died.

William and Mary are buried in Broderick Cemetery in Allen Township of Union County, Ohio. They are in Row 6, Grave 1.
