  2. The records for William Pittsley are so confusing as to suggest they may not be accurate, but it seems that almost nothing is confirmed by duplicates, so one can hardly even guess. Abisha's birth is one day off from the birth of Person:Charles Pittsley (1) that is given in his death record. Neither is found in the 1850 census. No birth is found for Elijah but his age in the 1850 census matches the birth of the unnamed son found in Freetown records (where Abisha's birth is also found). It also is about the same as Nathaniel C Pittsley, Charles' brother. The parents on both Abisha and the unnamed birth record are William B and Hannah Pittsley, which suggests there are two couples with those names, or the names of the children were changed, or recorded wrong? Also confusing things, it appears that this Hannah may have married two separate William Pittsleys. But there are so many holes, nothing seems clear. Some Internet sites list all the children in one family, but this is clearly impossible without additional explanation.
