William Harvey Jones and Paula Edna Ligon met in Arkansas. Harve, from Missouri and Paula, from Illinois came along with their families looking for work in the booming lumber business of northwest Arkansas. Paula's stepfather, William Brady, owned a saw mill. This was a portable machine that could be set up near a timber forest and moved where there was work. Harve and Paula married in 1913 in Hobart, Logan County, Arkansas. Sometime before 1920, they decided to return to Franklin County, Illinois.
