    On 24 Nov 1885, Chesterfield, South Carolina, Stephen Jackson, age 78, born in and resident of Chesterfield County, said 1st wife of Wm E. Horne was Sarah, daughter of "Louis Medder" [sic] Sr. who resided in Chesterfield County. Sarah m. Wm E. Horne about 1828 and d. in Anson County, North Carolina about 1841.

    Elisha Horne married Sophia Meador, daughter of Jason Meador, Jr.
    Elisha and Sophia Horne were the parents of William E. Horne (b. 1796 [sic], d. 1878 [sic]). William Horne m. his 1st cousin Sallie Meador as his first wife and they had 7 children. Sallie died age 36, and William m. Sallie Caraway [sic] as his second wife. They had 9 children.
