1850 Census: Annotated, compiled by John P. Alderman (1979) William (1781-1869) was the son of Isaac and Catherine Edwards, a Quaker family who came to Little Reed, near Hillsville in the 1780s, while William was still a child. He grew up here as the country was settled and came to own 600 acres on Little Reed which was enough for himself and his boys. I have never learned who Elizabeth was or where they are buried. It is very possible that she was a Bryson for that was the name they gave the oldest child. It seems there were eleven children. Annuel, shown here, had lost his first wife and was at home. William, the twnty-one year old son, was afflicted. The youngest two shown here were some of his grandchildren.
