    ... Mr. WILLIAM BURDETTE was also on the Eastern Shore at an early date. That he had a wife before the widow TRAVELLER, is shown by the records. (See N-n i-12. 19 Feby. 1642.)

    That he was a widower in 1633 is shown by a very quaint record in which a certain Scovell makes a wager that "Mr. Burdette should never have the widow Sanders." (N-n i-12.) ...
