Walter Riddell (1814-1904). born Westerkirk, Dumfriesshire. Scotland, died Cobourg. Ont.; married, 1838, Mary (1818-1906), born Annandale, Dumfriesshire (daughter of Walter Renwick, born 1783. of "Cleugh Brae," Parish of Johnston, Dumfriesshire, and his wife, Mary Weal of Gretna, born 1792), son of
Francis Scott Riddell, born 1780. and his wife, Elizabeth Martin, born 1777.
Arms (subject to differencing) : Argent, a chevron gules between three ears of rye slipped and bladed proper.
Crest: A demi-greyhound proper.
