Family:Unknown Scott and Susan Unknown (1)

Caution: Susan (or Susanna) as Nathaniel Scott's mother is speculative, based on her being the head of household of the only Scott family in Montgomery County, North Carolina in 1800 and 1810 with a male member of the household of an age to be Nathaniel. It should also be noted that Nathaniel named his third daughter Susan. (His second daughter, Sarah, was most likely named for her maternal grandmother.) There is some speculation that Nathaniel is the son of Nathaniel Scott of Anson County who died in 1801, but neither probate nor census records support that possibility.
