On page 137, the author argues against the speculation made by Eddis Johnson and Hugh B. Johnson that the parents of John Johnson were Robert and Katherine Johnson. He proposes that John's father may have been John Johnson, son of John Johnson, Ancient Planter, of Jamestown Island, but suggests it only as "one possibility".
