Will of "Thomas Gannatt somtime Inhabitant of Duxburrow; Now liveing in Bridgwater" gives his "whole and proper estate houses lands Cattle moveable goods to my wife" without naming her. "Sarah Gannatt" swore to his inventory 6 Aug 1655. Letters of administration awarded to "Sarah the Wife of Thomas Gannett Deceased" on 7 Aug 1655. Apparently because the language of the will was not up to legal standards, witnesses had to swear 28 Oct 1669 that it was his intent to bequeath to "his Wife Sarah" his land, so she could sell it.
