They may have been in Dublin as early as 1860, when Joseph Byrne issued a complaint that a Thomas Curley's hens and dog had trespassed on his garden at Ballybrack.2

The existence of a family plot in Rathmichael Cemetery would also indicate early residence in Dublin or the vicinity.
