  2. The Rowley VRs show a Jabez, son of Thomas, baptized in Rowley in 1690, which appears to be an error. Presumably based on this record, Source:Blodgette, George Brainard. Early Settlers of Rowley, Massachusetts (1887) and Source:Jewett, Amos Everett. Early Settlers of Rowley, Massachusetts (1933) both show Jabez in the family of Thomas, but don't appeared to have studied the family outside of what is found in the Rowley records. Thomas and Hannah had a daughter Sarah b. in Newbury in August 1690 and there wouldn't have been time to have another child before the baptism in December 1690. However, Samuel Ayers had a son Jabez born the day before the baptism, so this is undoubtedly his son, not these parents.
