Stephen and Helena (Helene) immigrated relatively late in life aboard the William and Francis in 1632. With them were his sons by his first marriage, Nathaniel and Stephen, and his daughter Ann's young sons Stephen, William, and John.

The William and Francis was one of two ships sent as part of the "Plough Company" to settle a patent in Saco, Maine. They were never able to occupy the patent and soon failed.
