Welles, Samuel, s. of John. … m. (1) Abigail Wheeler, who joined Stratfield Church, 10 July 1695, by letter from Fairfield. That she was dau. of Sergt. Ephraim Wheeler is indicated by a deed given in 1723 by Timothy Wheeler, Sr. [son of Ephraim], of Stratfield, in which he mentions adjacent land of 'my brother Wells.'"
