"6. Samuel (Holton) … married (l) June 21 [24], 1673, Mary (Gilbert) Rossiter, daughter of Jonathan Gilbert and widow of John Rossiter of Killingworth, Conn. In the will of her father, Jonathan Gilbert of Hartford, dated in 1674 and proved in 1683, Mary Holton and her son John Rossiter are mentioned. Some time between 1683 and 1694, Mary and Samuel Holton were divorced."
