Samuel and Elizabeth had 5 sons none of whom were named Richard. This seems odd IF Richard was the name of Elizabeth's father.

    Samuel Cob & Elizabeth Married 20 of Decem'r 1680.

Note: no surname is given in the Mayflower Descendant transcription. The version of Barnstable Vital Records on newenglandancestors.org, said to be based on a combination of information in both the Mayflower Descendant transcription and a version transcribed by Gustavus Aldolphus Hinckley, reads: "Samuel Cob & Elizabeth Taylor Married 20 of December 1680". It is difficult to tell if the MD version accidentally omitted the surname, or if Mr. Hinckley added it based on other information. Both transcriptions are based on a copy of the original records made in 1736.
