Family History

On 4 June 1892 a license was issued in the county of Kent, Michigan, for Ross Knowles (age 27) of Alaska, Kent co., mason and son of Thomas Knowles and Rose Mary Bolton, and Bessie E. McConnell (age 17) of the same place, daughter of Milo McConnell and Lauria Calvin. It was recorded that Ross had once been previously married. They were married the following day at Alaska by Henry Renshaw, a Baptist minister. The marriage was witnessed by Laura McConnell of Alaska and Emma Fouger of Grand Rapids.[1]
