Neanie Hooten Williams

Neta Mae (Neanie) Williams, 73, was born April 13, 1913 in Lumberton, Colo, to Blois Merle and Nellie McDaniel Hooten and passed away Thurs., evening at the High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo, TX.
Neanie moved with her parents to Roger Mills County in 1921 and has been a resident of Roger Mills County since that tiem. On November 22, 1933 she was married to Clarence Martin in Mangum, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death October 31, 1950.
She worked as a nurses aide in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital and Community Hospital in Elk City for a number of years.
July 16, 1951 she and Robert Glenn Williams were united in marriage in Arapaho, Oklahoma. Glenn preceded her in death May 25, 1986.
She had been a member of the Cheyenne Church of Christ for a number of years.
In addition to her husband, Neanie was preceded in death by her parents 1 sister and 2 brothers.
Those surviving include: 1 daughter, Shirley J. Allen of Amarillo, TX, 2 sons, Charlie D. Martin of Amarillo, TX and Bobby D. Williams of Tuttle, Oklahoma, 6 grandchildren, Scott and Craig Williams, Doug and Sarah Martin, Jo Brenda Rogers and Kelly Allen, 1 great grandchildren, Ja Lynn and Joe Bill Gregg; 4 sisters, Pauline Spivey of Taos, NM, Opal Henderson of Bloomfield, NM, Irene Forester and Wanda Harper, both of Albuquerque, NM, as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday morning, October 27, 1986 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cheyenne Church of Christ with Willard Cox officiating. Interment followed in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
Pallbearers were: Joe Whitson, Donovan Wesner, Charles Burns, Donald Campbell, Johnny Freeman and Eddie Lee McDaniel.
