Girvin dated 1916 page 27, states she was an earnest Christian and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church who had removed from Connecticut to New York in her early childhood and lived in the town of Merideth, adjoining Franklin, NY.

From the book "History of Pottawattamie County, Iowa" by John H. Keatley dated 1883 found at Google Books, Part II pages 8-9: Rev. P. F. Bresee's mother, Susan, was the daughter of Luke Brown who came to Delaware County from Massachusetts at an early day.
She may have been the daughter of Luke and Candice Brown of Meredith who were both of MA and had a daughter named Eliza who married a John S. Munson (see History of Delaware Co, the town of Meredith by W.W. Munsell 1797-1880). This family had a son, Sylvester, born 28 July 1811, possibly too close to Susan's birth for her to be in this family (?). The 1820 and 1830 census shown below could support that Susan was a part of this family.
