The State of Alabama, Jefferson County To any Ordained or Licensed Minister of the Gospel, Judge of the Supreme, Circuit, or Probate Court, or Justice of the Peace---Greeting:

 You are hereby authorized to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony between

Phelan Tidwell and Martha [Martha crossed out] Billie McCulla and this shall be your sufficient warrant for so doing.

 Witness, my hand, this 13th day of Sept A. D. 1881

 The above names parties were married by me at B??????  Mill 

on the 13 day of Sept 1881

State of Alabama, JEFFERSON COUNTY,

 Know all men by these Presents, That we Phelan Tidwell 

Wm D. Grant are held & firmly bound unto the State of Alabama in the penal sum of Two Hundred Dollars for the payment of which well and truly to be made, we bind our- selves, and each and every one of our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dates the 13 day of Sept A. D. 1881

 The condition of the above obligation is such, that if there be no lawful cause

why Phelan Tidwell and Martha McCulla should not be joined in the Holy Union of Matrimony, then this obligation to be void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
