Patrick served in the Civil War.

In 1897, Patrick and Mary Jane were living in Gar Creek in Allen County, Indiana.

Mary Jane was 75 years old when she died.

Patrick, Jr. was 86 years old when he died.

Patrick's obituary reads, "PATRICK RYAN, aged 86 years, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Allen County, died Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the home of his son, Harry Ryan, near Arcola. The deceased was born in Ireland, but came to this country and Allen County when only a child and resided here ever since. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Della Chamberlain, of Donna, TX; three sons, Elmer of Newcastle, Harvey of Huntington, and Harry at whose home he died; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild." [Fort Wayne News and Sentinel, Wednesday 22 September 1920, pg. 2]

They are both buried at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in New Haven, Indiana.
